Photo of the Month

Photo of the Month

I spotted this guy in the cottage garden of Knighshayes, the National Trust property in Devon. I know it's very similar to last month's photograph (the "fly on a petal") but I like this shot not only for the sharpness (again a handheld shot) but also the brightness of the green and contrasting blue of the Damselfly. It is cropped to a square format to enhance the symmetry of the foliage. Again, like the fly, you have to approach very slowly. The Damselfly was clearly very relaxed but did notice me approaching.

I'll try not to select an insect for next month's photograph. Promise.
